Donovan Bridgeforth was raised in Jacksonville, Texas and has strong ties to the East Texas community. Donovan eventually graduated from Mesquite Poteet High School and McLennan College in Waco, Texas where he obtained an associates degree in Political Science.

He continued his education at the Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas where he worked for the campus newspaper “The Brand” and competed in Moot Court and Meditation competitions. Furthermore, Donovan continued his education once again, to Paul Quinn College in Dallas, Texas, where he competed in the SxSW’s HBCU Battle of the Brains and won $10,000 for his college.

Donovan’s hobbies include journalism, book publishing, music, communication for social change, and community empowerment.

Professionally, Donovan has become a seasoned entrepreneur with app development and book publishing, and worked in local news prior to starting TXAN.
