VIDEOS: Martin's Mill defeats Lipan, sweeps Boys, Girls 2A-D2 state championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas (TXAN 24) - In a highly anticipated showdown, the Martin’s Mill Mustangs (36-1) pulled off a stunning victory over the Lipan Indians in the UIL state semifinals, securing their spot in history as a school by sweeping both the boys and girls state basketball championships.


Lipan, a perennial powerhouse and defending state champion, entered the matchup as the favorite. However, Martin’s Mill had other plans, executing a great game on both ends of the floor. From the opening tip, the Mustangs played with relentless energy, knocking down key shots and stifling Lipan’s high-powered offense.



One of the defining moments came late in the second half when Martin’s Mill strung together a series of clutch plays, forcing Lipan into turnovers and capitalizing on those opportunities.


The Mustangs maintained composure, sinking crucial free throws to seal the victory.
