Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs Remain Undefeated After Super Bowl Rematch

Updated: Nov 11, 2024

SAN FRANCISCO, California (TXAN 24) — The Kansas City Chiefs continued their dominance this season, improving to 6-0 after defeating the San Francisco 49ers in a Super Bowl rematch, this time in San Francisco. The Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, were much better this time around, cruising to a comfortable 28-18 win. Mahomes delivered another stellar performance.

While the Chiefs celebrated their undefeated season, East Texans had their eyes on a familiar face — Longview native and 49ers offensive tackle Trent Williams. Williams, widely regarded as one of the best offensive linemen in the league, did his part to protect quarterback Brock Purdy and open up running lanes for the 49ers’ ground game. His performance was one of the few bright spots for San Francisco, despite his late game ejection for throwing a punch, as the team struggled to keep up with the explosive Kansas City offense.

This game, marked as a rematch of last year’s Super Bowl, showed just how far ahead the Chiefs are in the league. The 49ers will look to regroup and bounce back, while Trent Williams continues to represent East Texas proudly on the national stage.

With the Chiefs riding high and Trent Williams holding strong, East Texas remains well represented in the NFL spotlight.
