NFL Shines with 22 Sports Emmy Nominations, Highlighting Excellence in Broadcasting

NEW YORK, New York (TXAN 24) — The National Football League (NFL) continues to demonstrate its dominance on and off the field, garnering an impressive 22 Sports Emmy Award nominations as announced by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences earlier today. The recognition spans a variety of categories, showcasing the league's dedication to exceptional storytelling and media innovation.


NFL Films leads the charge with 12 nominations, further cementing its reputation as a standard-bearer in sports broadcasting. Among the highlights are nods for *Hard Knocks: Offseason with the New York Giants*, recognized for Outstanding Documentary Series – Serialized, and *NFL GameDay All-Access – Super Bowl LIX*, which earned a nomination for Outstanding Edited Event Coverage.


Meanwhile, NFL Network’s flagship show, Good Morning Football, celebrated its fourth career nomination in the Outstanding Studio Show – Daily category. Additionally, Scott Hanson, the beloved host of NFL RedZone, earned recognition for Outstanding Personality – Studio Host.


“Having our work acknowledged by our peers is a tremendous honor,” said an NFL Films representative. “These nominations reflect the passion and creativity of our team, as well as our commitment to bringing fans closer to the game they love.”

The awards also spotlight social impact and public service content, with the NFL receiving three nominations in the Outstanding Public Service Content category. Campaigns like Super Bowl LIX: Flag 50 and Youth Flag Football: Let’s Play underscore the league's efforts to promote diversity, inclusion, and youth engagement.


East Texas sports fans might take particular pride in Jason Kelce's nomination for Outstanding Personality/Emerging On-Air Talent, as his contributions reflect the down-to-earth determination and resilience emblematic of the Lone Star State.


The 46th Annual Sports Emmy Awards will be held on May 20 at Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Frederick P. Rose Hall, promising an evening of celebration for sports media professionals.
