SAN FRANCISCO, California (TXAN 24) – East Texas was in the spotlight on Monday Night Football as Longview native Trent Williams suited up for the San Francisco 49ers in their highly anticipated game against Aaron Rodger’s New York Jets.
A proud product of Longview High School, Williams has long been a source of pride for the East Texas community. After a standout college career at the University of Oklahoma, Williams was selected 4th overall in the 2010 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins (now Commanders), before making his way to the 49ers in 2020.
Since then, he has played an instrumental role in protecting quarterbacks and leading one of the league’s most formidable offensive lines tonight against the stifling New York Jets defense.
