Claire Tipton Claims Second Straight Powerlifting State Championship

EDINBURG, Texas (TXAN) – Rusk High School’s Claire Tipton solidified her dominance in Texas high school powerlifting, securing her second consecutive state championship at the 4A Division II Texas High School Women’s Powerlifting State Meet on Friday.
Competing in the 148-pound division, Tipton delivered an impressive performance, recording:
• 385-pound squat
• 290-pound bench press
• 385-pound deadlift
Her combined total of 1,060 pounds earned her the gold medal and further cemented her as one of the top women’s powerlifters in UIL History.
