BREAKING: Former President Trump shot at campaign rally

Butler, PENNSYLVANIA (TXAN 24) — Former President Donald Trump was abruptly rushed off the stage during a rally in Pennsylvania on Saturday, following loud noises that resembled gunshots. According to two senior law enforcement officials briefed on the incident, Trump is currently safe and is expected to survive.

The dramatic scene unfolded just minutes into Trump's speech. As he addressed the crowd, popping sounds echoed through the venue. Trump instinctively reached for the side of his face, revealing blood on the side of his head and ear. Secret Service agents, responding swiftly, surrounded the former president and escorted him off the stage. Trump, visibly crouching, was led into a vehicle by agents, who formed a protective barrier around him.

The nature and source of the noises are still under investigation, and it remains unclear whether the sounds were indeed gunshots. Law enforcement agencies are working diligently to determine the cause and ensure the safety of all individuals present at the rally.

The incident has sparked a flurry of reactions and concerns about the safety of public figures at large gatherings. More updates will follow as the investigation progresses.
